The ASELECTFEW® Story

We are a community-driven streetwear brand recognized for bridging the gap between traditional and contemporary South Asian designs.

“Culture, traditions, and reinterpretation”. These three words describe the design philosophy behind ASELECTFEW’s fashion label. Founded by Moneey Singh in 2018, the brand has garnered notable recognition for its unique showcase and influence of Indian artwork, symbolism, and natural dye processes.

Originally an engineer by profession, Moneey was working in a field that allowed him to see problems as opportunities and the fun in solving those problems. He saw an opportunity after having trouble finding brands that represented appreciation for his cultural background and sharing his belief system. Around this time, a trip to India with his father changed Moneey’s life forever. The rediscovery of his South Asian roots led to the start of his very own fashion brand, ASELECTFEW®. The name was derived as an idiom to represent a visible minority. Not only did this brand speak to him, but it also made Moneey feel connected to his culture.

In 2019, Moneey was proud to collaborate with 5X Fest, a South Asian cultural event in Vancouver, BC where he launched his first collection called “Phool Patti”. This collection is inspired by the visually vibrant Indian truck art that he observed while on his trip in India. Transforming cultural design elements into wearable fashion pieces. The focus of this collection was centred around the representation of the artistic way in which Indian truck drivers paint their trucks with floral motifs and poetic Hindi phrases that ward off bad omens.

Moneey's design philosophy is to bridge the cultural gap between east and west by developing a global mindset. “We don’t just want to sell clothes, we want to reshape and promote South Asian heritage in a way that connects universally.”
-Moneey Singh

ASELECTFEW®’s mission is to create contemporary, sustainable clothing for men and women that is inspired by traditional Indian culture. The brand aspires to always push the limits of what's possible in terms of design and collaboration. It also aims to be a major force in bringing about a social and cultural movement in the fashion industry.
